The success at Vodafone is still the benchmark in vendor management and teamwork when it comes to relationship and operational excellence.
Prior to accepting the position as Chief Executive at Zenterio and entering the digital media industry, he held the position as Chief Executive at Acision, a huge PE backed loss-making company. He lead that under a few years the restructuring of the overall messaging and social network strategy, virtualized the product portfolio, and improved the global operational and support business to a huge profitable and recurring business. Together with his management team he lead the commercial plan to turn the company and its 48 legal entities into strong profitability and recurring revenue. That enabled later the owners to sell of Acision/Xura and today is part of Mavenir Systems owned by Siris Capital Group.
Richard has over thirty years’ experience as executive, investor, advisor, entrepreneur and non-executive director in service businesses, in particular in telecoms and technology. He has been a partner at NewMarket Partners since 2010, where he works with a group of Operator Investors focusing on turnarounds, scale-ups and carve-outs.
Currently Richard is guiding an Oxford-based SaaS company, Aeriandi Limited, through scale-up following a recent successful fund raise. He also recently advised a Bristol-based SaaS company, Lucid CX, along the path from mature start-up to faster growth and professionalisation. Both companies have great products and blue-chip customer bases and are equipping themselves for accelerated growth and subsequent monetisation events.
In recent years he has led and advised a London-based fibre-to-the-home telecommunications company, Community Fibre Limited, from start-up through a successful fundraise; to date the company has concluded three rounds of fundraising, including a £25m raise in April 2018. He has also restructured the Board and Executive team of a £30m hospitality business and acted as the Chief Restructuring Officer of a €100m distressed global manufacturer, where he restructured the business, delivered third-party investment and enabled a return to growth.
Formerly Richard was CEO of two of Cable & Wireless International's dispersed regional businesses, having P&L responsibility for $1bn of turnover and 5,000 employees. He grew revenue, improved customer service, simplified the operating model, reduced headcount, and enhanced EBITDA, all whilst managing complex stakeholder relationships in multiple territories.
Before that, Richard founded and ran his own telecommunications company serving SMEs in London, after spending twelve years in management consulting for AT Kearney in London and Arthur D. Little in Brussels, working with many international clients including BP, France Telecom, Anglian Water, Nomura Principal Finance, Electrolux, ENI Group, and John Laing.
Richard holds an Honours Engineering degree from the University of Bristol and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia. He is an approved person under the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
Phillip is a telecoms, VOIP and IT professional with a stand our career working with telecommunication organisations
from the goliaths such as BT to smaller outfits offering solutions technically identical to Plexus Wifi.
Phillip is well versed in the key technical requirements for retail and corporate communication networking infrastructures,
and the core systems to make them work.
Phillip has been active in the sector for the last 10 years; in this time he has developed end to end network solutions,
management systems and protocols, customer services solutions with ticketing and CRM, custom coding for bespoke
functions and electronic design and implementation. He has also built solar power modules and CCTV systems as well
as mobile system management structures.
Philip has also designed his own cloud controlled wifi transmitters which will be deployed in the network.

• Implemented Traffic and Stats Monitoring for the Private WAN. This enabled Hello Telecom to see Traffic
• Set up the entire auto provisioning of phones (Snom, Yealink, Gigaset, Cisco) for use with Contrex
(asterisk).
• Planed and implemented a private WAN for Voice only. Using xDSL/EFM/Leased Lines, was able to
create a Private “Star” Network topology, to connect remote sites to the data center. Ran IPSEC and
GRE With OSPF over these links.
• Implemented Monitoring for the private WAN using Nagios. This enabled Hello Telecom to a see the
state of connections.
• Throughput, CPU utilization, Memory Usage.
• Implemented Puppet on all Voice servers. This ensures that all servers are the same state, and enables
fast deployment of new servers.
His business career in the fast food industry spans over 18 years. As Area Manager in Subway he was responsible for the
day to day running of the stores as well as sourcing new business opportunities through the expansion of the brand. He
was also responsible for all the financial aspects of the business, which included budget preparation, capital expenditure,
and profit and loss. Previously, he worked for Burger King as a Regional Manager, where he was responsible for 17 stores
across the Midlands area, with a total turnover of £20 million.
He is regarded as a leading change manager in the Midlands. During his career he has held the positions of Regional
Manager, Area Manager, Brand Standards Manager, Company Trainer, and Loss Control Coordinator. In addition he
has been involved in several restaurant openings over the last 18 years. He is an MBA graduate from the University of
Liverpool. He currently works as a Business Advisor working with Small and Medium Enterprises. He is also the Ethnic
Minority Business Champion and sits on the First Enterprise Loan Panel, judging on business loans to East Midlands
